A grain-free diet is similar to a gluten-free diet, except it’s taken a step further by removal not only of the gluten containing grains, but all other grains like rices, teff, oats and grain-like foods, such as corn. However, this does not necessarily affect the macronutrient ratios of this style of eating, and does not mean it’s a low-carbohydrate nutritional style by the omission of gluten alone. Carbohydrates typically still come from starchy vegetables, legumes, dairy, fruit, nuts and seeds, primarily.
